How To Deal With ART BLOCKSOk, if you guys are still wondering, this post may help you. Its just a way I go on about it.
First of all, what is an art block? Just like writer's block, an artist gets an art block. Its a state where you either; can't think of anything to draw, your drawings turn out crap, you're just not getting your drawings right, or just uninspired.
So how do I deal with it?
The very first thing you MUST do is to actually STOP DRAWING. This is your brain telling you to take a break.
If you force yourself out of an art block, it ALWAYS shows. It will look rushed or unthought of.
Second, is try and do something else NOT related to art/creativity... Go for a run, watch TV, read a book, play games, see friends etc.
Third; try and listen to music. Calm your brain and get rid of your thought process. Music is a way of simulation, sometimes you will get inspiration from it.
If you have an idea of what sort of thing you're after but just cant get it right in the end, this is where I think music helps. E
Why people think art should be cheapI mean some people even think that digital art should be cheaper than traditional, because there is no original.
Its funny when people ask tons of things in a drawing, like 30 characters fighting a 12 dragons, and they think they can get it cheaper than a pencil drawing, because in the computer there must be a secret brush that makes all of this in 2 hours.
Sadly, painted style in digital takes more time than traditional. Artists says its easier, because you have more control. But sadly textures are cooler in traditional, and easier.
I remember 4 or 5 years ago when started thinking bout digital, i said damn if i learn digital, i will skip drawings and paint directly, this will make my life easier, it will take me less time to finish a product, like i can even finish 3 drawings in just a day, yeahhh i should try that.
5 years later, i was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo wroonnngggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg.
So i used to think the same about speed, but not about price.

Style, style, STYLE, oh, THE styleWhat do you think about it? In terms of drawing. Is it important to have one of your own? Is it necessary to constantly seek it?
I've seen people troubled by not having constant style, people thinking their style is not original enough, people making a bold line between their two styles, people trying to get rid of one style...
My humble opinion on this is that you should stop wasting your energy on torturing yourself and just draw. Draw whatever you feel like.
Unless you're being paid for certain style but that's not what I want to talk about now.
What I want to talk about are all those personal pictures you do for self-improvement or supposedly for fun. "Supposedly" because if your main purpose is "fun" I don't get why you should worry yourself with "omg is this style all right what will my watchers say?"
Well, your watchers will get pretty bored if all in your gallery look the same. And also, there's not much space for improvement. Talking from my own experience, I was totally charm
GOODBYE 2011....Although i know it's not quite the end and we've still got 8 days before this year is considered  irrelevant, i've looked back at some things that have happened this year that have more or less affected the lives of many...

Teachers~~
When you're in college, you forget. In college, we treat our teachers with respect because we paid for that class, we want to be in that class, and we know how important it is to be there.
But can you remember Elementary School? Middle? High school? Do you remember the teacher who always had to deal with utterly disrespectful back-talk, who could easily get in trouble for anything a student says? That teacher who was so kind, so much of a pushover, students would throw things at his back AND his face? Did you feel apathetic? Passive? Find it funny, maybe? Angry at the specific students for being so cruel?
I remember my 6th Grade Teacher.
She was a young teacher, and I'm willing to bet she had come into the profession with bright hopes. I bet she had looked forward to teaching.
I remember a day when a lot of the kids from the class were verbally abusing her, calling her names and telling her she had no idea what she was doing. I was sitting quietly, simply watching her reactio
Artblocks a blessing or a curse?I had seen in many years, people getting worried of art blocks, many giving solutions how to over come them, hearing music, trying something else in technique,  changing subject. Trying yoga, drinking red bulls, beers in my case. And many many stuff.
But those get rid of art blocks forever gone? You cant bet it not.
All people have artblocks, the talented people are the only ones to say that never ever ever happen to them. They dont know what an artblock is. They never had one in their all life career. I think thats a lie, we all had artblocks, but you got to get rid of them quickly, or you cant be a professional.
A professional dont have time to spend on an art block, you will still need to draw having one, after all you need to get a deadline done. That can be the best solution, keep drawing, dont let the artblock win.
From my personal point of view Artblocks are EGO killers. Artblocks grab your feet to the ground, you will realize you are human, you arent perfect. Your min

2. Open your program.
3. Search for it and test everything till you find it.
3.a. Don't give up.
3.b. I know you're close to getting bald, but don't give up.
tip: Trust google to a certain degree.

Wacom Interactive Pen Displays??????Ok, so I was talking with :iconfooray: about Cintiqs and stuff. And he came across these. It's funny that we've never saw this before. If you know about this already, never mind.
They're not Cintiqs, but they're basically lower-level, and lower-priced Wacom display tablets. The smallest one which is a 15.6 inch one, starts at like $1250 on Wacom's site. The second size is a 17 inch 4:3 one starting at $1600, and the biggest one, which is a widescreen HD 21.5 inch one starts at $1900.
A lot of people ask me about Cintiqs and the prices, but I was never aware that Wacom had these available. The only downside is that these only have 512 levels of pressure sensitivity, but I figure if you're thinking of/using an iPad, you'll appreciate at least that and that that 512 shouldn't matter much.
Even that smallest model KILLS the base Cintiq 12WX's specs imho, for only an additional $250. And these are on eBay as well, meaning you can most likely get them cheaper. I guess the fact that Cintiqs a

I realized i just been living in a lie. Been coloring with the wrong icc profile for almost 6 years. Its because all this time i had a secondary monitor like 8 years old that ive never notice it. I just bought recently a cheap and amazing monitor 23 inches aoc, and noticed that my cintiq tablet colors looked washed away.



I asked myself why all my drawings in deviant art dont look like in my cintiq, they look washed away or burned.


Because of two problems.


I have all my files in adobe 1998 icc, which its good for printing but not web browsing, but the most horrible one, its that the cintiq21ux.icc that came in my cd was really wrong. Got the correct one in a wacom europe page, my cintiq its first generation, so new drivers sucked hard doesnt work.


Also warning for those that have same old cintiq like me, new drivers screw up the pen, cuts the pressure in half or gives weird pressure to it-, and worst ive been coloring with pen pressure wrong and color really bad.



I had been coloring blind. The default icc that comes in the cd its like 5kb, you need to get the one almost 500kb they are named the same, but its a huge difference, when i change it i noticed all my drawings looked so burn out.


Ohhh the driver i think worked perfectly for my old cintiq and intuos 3 its this driver WacomTablet_6.1.6-5.



Because wacom released a new cintiq 21ux it rewritted the files on top of this old one, so new drivers really mess with the pens pressure and performance, and its not installing the correct icc, so you have to get that file and install it manually.


Spread the word if you know other people with cintiq 21ux(first generation), cintiq 12wx or intuos 3.




Now i can see colors perfectly, after going to color manager of windows 7  and i can control perfectly the pens pressure.

Thanks, I have noticed a bit of colour difference before, but I think I'll continue to use this till it dies...I'll check the colour by looking at my monitor. :P

Yeah, I've had my Cintiq 12WX for a year and I only resolved this issue last week. I sent some mental curse words Wacom's direction for that.

Never use the ICC Profiles from the company, create yours instead, that way you will get the best color results, Iīve never used preset ICC profiles because they will never match the printed version because all monitors have different settings. If you donīt like manual calibration you can always try using a Spyder from Data Color, those things are amazing for color correction.

I have the same type of problem with my 12wx :p Its 5 years old (I got it used, but new condition) and everything comes out fine on it, but when I look at my monitor, (a netbook) the looks stretched and faded!
