Saw today that you can install windows 8, so got curious, noticed how cheap was for the upgrade, 40 dollars i said okay, what can i lose, then an exe installs and checks everything, he ask me how topay, and what settings i should keep from my old windows 7, i said okay.
2 gigs its the file of this windows, took me around 24 minutes to download it, then wait for other 2 hours to install it.
Then it was on, started sooooo fast that my windows 7 felt really old, my jaw was wide open to notice all the new features, and im not even using a touch pc, im in love of the apps.
Just to mention an example, i got skype(19 megs size) then i noticed the skype app(736kb) sooo small and soooo complete.
They got rid of ugly interfaceeee, for the first time in all windows, doesnt feel like a bastard son from windows 95.
Took me a while to figure out were are all the features, like control panel and stuff, the more i learn about windows 8 the more i love it.
Finally dual monitor software, i mean i can have a different wall paper on each monitor, have the windows bar on each monitor, have extra options on each corner of each screen, this is like a dream.
When i raise volume a mini player appears, so you can even change the song without opening a new program.
Finally i can read emails in windows, outlook express in past versions were horrible, it even let me put many emails in one account, skype and messenger joined together.
Easy to seach stuff online, installed a wikipedia app, you can pin everything in metro and now need to have horrible icons on wallpaper.
For good sake i love internet explorer more than firefox because of the minimalistic that it issss.
Ive never in my life expect to love internet explorerrrrrr.
Note: my harware its brand new so probably if you have old stuff can get compatibility problems so wait for the first service pack.
So far so good my tablet wacom works, same painter 12 and photoshop, same norton antivirus.
Except tune up utilities, i need to upgrade.
I was a hater of windows 8, spammed all youtube videos saying crap, and then comes out and slaps my face. I feel so ashamed now.

I don't really do a lot of heavy anything. Just sketching. It's just really annoying to have gone from 0 lag to any lag.... Still trying to figure out how to fix it.

They've also made the ribbon interface on explorer windows?!? What is with that! It takes up a serious amount of space! I hated he Ribbon bar on Office 2007 and I really don't want it on all of my explorer windows, I know that you can customize it to make it smaller but there was nothing wrong with the old one, If you hide the ribbon interface then you have none of the options, where as with the old one you had most of the options taking up less than half of the space of the ribbon.
Personally i would like windows 8, if and only if, it looked like window 7. I like the 'hot corners' (if they are like the mac's corner function things) and i'm sure that there are a few changes that i like.
The "dontcallitmetro" interface will work well on a touch-screen tablet like device, but as a desktop/laptop device, what i really want is a start menu that lists my programs with out space wasting images (settings set to small icons [or turned off], font as small as i can get it and still read it, no scroll).
Also, one thing people always mention with Windows 8 is the program search, well its a no for me, as i ether don't know what the program is called that i'm looking for, don't know what i'm looking for, or know exactly where the mouse needs to be for the program i want, and pictures and words are not even needed.
Obviously this is just what I think of it, you seam to like it so thats fine.
