Splatty brush with angle by elsevilla Splatty brush with angle by elsevilla
THIS BRUSHES ONLY WORKS ON COREL PAINTER 2015

Decided to share this brush, because its really difficult to pull off, i mean using angles in brushes can make the brush lag a lot when you capture the dab. If you dont know what its capture the dab, search for it in help topics or watch videos to get it dont be lazy. If you dont care learning on your own what its capture dab, then, this brushes aint for you.

Things you need to notice.

To make this brush to work with random angles i raised the angle jitter to 100%, but to make the angles to work you need to raise the ang range to 360 degrees, that means that now you can rotate the brush entirely, if you kept it in 0 the dab wont rotate at all, this took me hard time to figure out how it works. But you will notice the brush will lag a lot, so i found this fix Angle Step, as you can see i put the setting of 30 degrees, that means the brush will skip 30 degrees each time, that means instead of giving me 360 positions it will give me just 12 diferent angles because jump from 0 to 30 to 60 to 90, that means uses less steps, so the brush works super fast.

Dont worry by default the brushes has this settings on. I just wnat you to know what i did there. Also i want you to let you know how to capture a good that dab will help you create your own brushes, for example i created another brush just by changing the captured dab to a leaves looking, so now i can do trees easier and not just dots.

The trick its to do a small captured brush, lets say 200 by 200 pixels, and do the brushes spaced like the squared i have in the picture, notice all the space in white, the brushes texture should be done in black.

Once you capture your own dabs you will be able to use the random angle setting, this will help you to get textures the way you want it.

Hope you liked this small tutorial. Ohh i forgot, just unzip this two files, open corel painter go to brushes and import them by brush, they aint a category or a complete set, each file its one brush, just make sure to import it as a regular brush, and it will pop out.

Have fun. Viva la painter!!!!!!

It makes sense doing what you did for capture the dab, do people often do it another way??? :| I must of been doing it wrong then... :\.

Thank you for the brush by the way! I've been away for so long I just got back into it and ughh the new brushes are good but so many options... It's overwhelming.

I'm assuming you made this with a regular pen correct? Or did you do it exclusively with the 3d pen?

i have a 6d artpen, but feels alien on my hand, so for this the direction affects the engle, rather than rotation.

ahh sadly I don't have a 6d artpen. Oh well lol.

Ah thanks for the heads up and brush -- again! Also I'm assuming without a 6d artpen, the rotation aspect of the brushes in painter don't translate well to normal wacom pens -- correct?

Thanks for the reply!

Stay cool :D It's a shame I don't use painter :saddummy: I'll say shame on corel for not making it Linux compatible, if it were, I would probably consider using it.
