There's actually a legal way to get them for free! Gendou.com! They're a site that's been doing this for atleast 9 years. If you want to support it you can actually donate to the site. I'm not entirely sure the process they use to get the songs but as each song in an anime is revealed it only takes a few weeks to get it. I assume there's some kind of approval process or something.

Buy a physical copy. Rip the songs in whatever format and bit rate you want.  Place the CD in storage for use when a better format exists, and you want to rerip it.

Usually just Amazon.com or Google Play if they have it.

I've had not to bad luck with sites like Itunes, but that's mostly game music. I have found some anime stuff but not a lot. I personally much prefer to have a physical copy of my music, that way I can rip it to my Itunes and if it gets corrupted in some way I can just delete it and rip it again as many times as I want.

*puts on a pirate hat, talks in a pirate voice* YARRRGH JOIN US ON THE SEVEN SEAS

But seriously I kinda wish the world ditch region locking, for 1. it would help stop piracy, and 2. we live on the same planet, but you know, legalities ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Hmm but does Japanese Amazon have digital albums? Maybe you could see if they have it digitally there and maybe make an account on the Japanese Amazon? I am not sure if they prevent you from digital downloads if you live in a different country though :\

So someone mentioned Amazon's MP3 store before, but sometimes they won't let you purchase certain tracks outside Japan. Particularly the larger labels. There are ways to get around that though. ^^
You can get them off Amazon.jp (the MP3 version) even if you live outside Japan if you buy a gift card and set the address for it anywhere in Japan. Nothing is being shipped here so no worries about something going somewhere funny. It's just to get past the Japan block.

Basically, you start off with your regular account, wherever it is. Buy the gift card (with whatever address is attached to your account normally.)
Then, go and buy the MP3s you want from the Japanese digital store with the gift card and set your address to anywhere in Japan. It can be the Imperial palace or Mount Fuji or some random place. Anywhere is fine

Music get!

Thank you so much for supporting the artists by the way. It really does help.
I'm in the industry as well, and it's especially strict about overseas stuff because it involves a lot of red-tape and buying various expensive permits, licenses, and paying ridiculous taxes even just to make content available online.  I know it's hard for fans, but there are always legal ways to get things ^^)/

Thanks again!

It's more or less impossible. Seems to me the best bet is to change your iTunes region temporarily to Japan, and then buy a Japanese iTunes card because they only take yen.m.jbox.com/product/ITUNESCARD

Play-Asia?
They've got a lot of them.
Though I don't think they offer MP3s.

There's an app called iTube. Basically you can look up any video on YouTube and download it. So find the lyric videos and download them. They took it off the App Store a while ago because the iTunes were losing money because people started downloading their songs there for free. I'm not sure if they've put it back up or not, as I've seen people still using it.

Bad thing about getting music off of Youtube is it has a maximum bitrate of 192kbps which is really awful quality, even for an mp3. You might not noticed if you only listen through crappy apple earphones, but you'll definitely notice with any nicer audio equipment.

Ah. Well then I'm not sure how to help you. I'm not quite as experienced with that kind of equipment. Best of luck though. :D

I've bought mine on itunes and what they didn't have I used the itunes request page. I have noticed they do listen and sometimes add the songs I've requested.

I have found a few on iTunes.
But on occasion you can pick them up via MP3 from Amazon.
That is where I found the OST for Hellsing.

Well remember there is no law against buying the tracks from amazon and CONVERTING the files to mp3 using a conversion program (Roxio, AVS4YOU, and others make LEGAL programs for that).  As long as its for your own use, conversions are allowed.  Besides, having a non-compressed original file (or disk) on hand allows you to have both the portable and the high-quality versions to listen to when needed (mp3 is a compressed format, hence the reason why it's known as a LOSSY format - it degrades the quality of the sound).

Some stuff actually does show up in iTunes, others from Amazon. A few others I have found through the publisher's site or the artist's sites.

Yeah, I understood:D
Well, if I want to support fav band I usually try a bunch of their songs and only then go and buy a physical cd(or a electronic cd).. Not sure if paying for a single song is worthy cause it can be super cool for me today and become unstantable the next day.
And then I have a super cool music source B)
